We love to move in First Grade! Students need opportunities to choose seating options that help them move and re-focus on their daily tasks. Flexible seating is a way for students to independently re-focus during daily instruction, since they are able to make choices for their own success and relieve stress as they work. With flexible seating, the students in my classroom will be able to choose what's best for them as an individual; therefore increasing their focus and engagement in learning. They will be able to wiggle while they work during small group reading, language arts, and math. Flex Space Balance Balls will give students flexibility and mobility as they are doing standards-based research for informational writing, practicing math fact fluency, or reading grade-level texts online. Flex Space Comfy Floor Seats provides additional comfortable seating for my students as they partner read, work in math centers, complete word work and collaborate in small groups. My classroom is a blend of unique students who are eager to learn. Flexible seating will enhance their engagement in daily instructional activities and will promote success for all students.
