I have worked with the senior class since they began 9th grade. Some students have left for many reasons but the ones that stayed are determined to be successful. Many of my students come from low income families and will be putting their money towards items for graduation and prom.I want to celebrate them with items they can take to college with them. I added items such as towels and laundry bags. Although they may be small items, these are things they will need for their college rooms and one less item they will have to pay for. We as a school just want them to know that we love them and appreciate all the hard work and focus that they have put into their studies despite all the other problems they had going on outside of school. We will host a college decision day event where the items will be raffled off to the students.
