These items will provide a soothing and safe place for our students to decompress during the school day. This room will be utilized by various levels of individuals with disabilities. At our school we serve 350+ individuals with special needs. This room would benefit, and be available, to any of them throughout the day. Currently we have many students that need a place like this during the school day, and we have nothing to accommodate their needs. A sensory room is a therapeutic space with a range of materials that will provide students with special needs the opportunity to release built up endorphins through special lighting, music, and objects. It assists these individuals by allowing them to calm and focus themselves so they can be better prepared for learning and interacting with others.

About my class
