Flexivle seating is becoming a hot topic in elementary education. Even though there is limited research on flexible seating, it is evident in the influence it can have on a child’s learning. Flexible seating, wobble chairs and floor seats, would allow my students to have a choice in their seating. By having a classroom with flexible seating, it would allow my students to not only be comfortable while learning, it also addresses their physical health. Children need to move! Students would have the opportunity to collaborate and communicate with their peers. Students would be learning problem solving skills, critical thinking skills, and conflict resolution to name a few.
