My 3rd and 4th grades special needs students have a hard time sitting still for 7 hours in their seats. Flexible seating will help my students be more comfortable physically in class. Many of my students have sensory issues and several are on the autistic spectrum. Flexible seating options like wobbly stools and seat pillows will allow students to get sensory input while still learning. The foldable seats will allow students with low muscle tone the ability to sit on the floor in a clean space when sitting on a hard chair is too difficult. More sensory input in class reduces trips to the bathroom and water fountain since they are allowed movement within the classroom.
