My students come from an economically disadvantaged area. Many of them score below the state average in reading and math. While the struggle, they are also hard workers who need the tools to be more successful. Having these calculators will help them achieve more academically, which will, in turn, build their positive self-worth and outlook on the future. I know from past experiences, that giving students the tools they need to be successful makes for a positive learning environment which them promotes a love of learning. I want my students to learn to love math as much as I do and getting these calculators is a step in the right direction.

About my class
