Learning to read is an important part of my students kindergarten experience. They will learn their letters, letter sounds (such as digraphs, blends, and vowel teams) and important reading concepts that they will then be able to put together to read words, sentences, and eventually books. These materials will give kindergarteners the opportunity to play with letters, sounds, and various games that will help develop their reading skills. They will get to manipulate sounds to build words; read sentences and match the picture; build their language skills; and engage in open ended learning where they are in charge of their learning on a daily basis! These types of games take away the pencil and paper and give them hands-on learning experiences to add to their reading schema.
