With the addition of these chrome books to our classroom my students will be able to experiment with various digital formats to create engaging blended learning presentations that demonstrate their knowledge of subject matter and technical skills. Instead of being limited to writing a report about the State of Nevada or how number bonds can be used to add numbers quickly, they can show what they know by creating an animated short on ABCYa or Blender. They will also be able to participate in the many computer programming coding applications like Code.org or Scratch, which allow them to develop problem solving strategies that will become the foundation for future career skills. The earlier my students become familiar with technology the easier it will be for them to advance in our digital world. These chrome books will open up many opportunities for these students that will help them transition into middle school and high school as competitive and confident digital learners and eventually creative and capable citizens.
