Have you ever been the first one to crack open a new book? Do you remember the crispness of the pages, the crackling sound of the binding, and the beautiful smell of the freshly inked pages? I would like those opportunities for our students in the library. Many of our books have been loved for a long time. Their years of love and enjoyment are showing with the wear and tear with fraying bindings, ripped pages, and battle scars from use. Although the books get fixed with our miracle tape, there is a point where they need to be replaced. By putting these new books in the hands of our young scholars, it will be giving them the ability to escape to even more lands of imagination. These books will be available for any and all of our students to check out on a weekly basis. The books will not only help promote literacy throughout our school this year, but for many years to come.
