Our school is an old school, having served the community for a long time. Much of its furniture is old and outdated. The desks that we currently use are rusty, uneven, and downright unsafe, and do not match. The students will often complain that their chair or desk is broken, but I have no other chairs or desks to offer them. We are requesting a full class set of desks and chairs that would help provide a safe learning environment for my students. New desks would not only be safer, but they would instill a sense of pride in our students. My students constantly ask why we can't have nice materials like the other schools. If we could remake our classroom with a set of new class desks, it would help our organization, our sense of value, and our level of responsibility. As educators it is our mission to make sure that we reach all students and give them opportunities to thrive!
