I work in an inner-city school in Detroit. We are a high-need community with most of our students walking to and from school. Currently our state has one of the highest unemployment rates and that has affected my school community hard. My students are compassionate, endearing, hard-working, and eager to learn through hands on experiences. My students strive every day to achieve and grow. My students enjoy taking the lead whenever the opportunity arises and I enjoy watching them do so. They are eager to share their experiences and learn new things in the science learning environment. Yet, many live at or below the poverty line and have limited access to technology. While they may not have many material resources, they are rich with ideas, dreams, and goals. The integration of technology and science will make a difference in my student's lives.
