The science area in my Pre-K classroom has been lacking in materials. After my first year of teaching I have put in a lot of thought about what I would like the students to have to experiment with. The Can Do Discovery Kits will be great for the Preschool age children to play with and explore. I found it very helpful that the Discovery Kits also combine with our standards. The students will learn about ramps, sink or float, color, things that are magnetic or resistant, and having the ability to see things up close with the magnifying glasses. Students will also learn the life cycle of a fish and having the responsibility of cleaning and taking care of the fish tank. This will give the students a way to incorporate their creative and imaginative mindset. Having materials that are age appropriate for children is very important for them to be able to explore and learn at their level. I believe that children learn best with hands on learning especially for 3-5year olds.
