My student's favorite part of their day is when we sit down as a class and read together. They love the stories, the pictures, the colors and the sound of my voice reading aloud. This is a time of engagement, togetherness of a learning community and fun as we dive into another story. I am requesting a collection of high level interest picture books that focus on the development of mathematical concepts and will engage my students during Math Skill Block through reading. A mathematical read aloud would bring Math to life for my students. It would provide a concrete example of math skills that will be reinforced through hands on activities during a rotation of collaborative group work.
