To foster functionality in the target language my students learn to read short stories and leveled readers in Spanish. 'Ana, estudiante' and 'Muerte en Buenos Aires' are novice readers, while 'Crimen en Barcelona' and 'La última cena' are for more advanced students. The 'Alma Flor Ada Stories to Celebrate' series present the culture of Spanish speakers by exploring specific holidays. The short stories selected will promote multiculturalism and bilingualism and assist my students to read and write proficiently in Spanish. In addition to the specific readers, I selected the materials to help students while reading. The post-it notes and tabs are used in the 'sticky note analysis' and the writing utensils will ensure every student can participate.
