I teach music to kindergarten through 2nd grade at a Title 1 school. Many of my students receive free or reduced lunch and some receive food to take home over the weekends. My campus also has a high special education (SPED) population who are able to come into my classroom as well. For many of these SPED students music is their only opportunity to leave their classroom and to be included with their general education peers. The music room is housed in a portable that allows all of the classes to shake, rattle, and roll to the music and not disturb the rest of the campus.
