We are an urban district and despite what people belief we at the classroom level receive very little money to replenish supplies. This past year the district decided to no longer provide teachers will print cartridges for the printers in their classroom. In our school, we have been provided one community printer in our staff lounge. Not only is it inconvenient, but it is frequently without toner. We went almost 3 months at one point during the school year without toner. Most of our teacher resources/editions are now computer access, therefore in order to use these resources a printer with toner is needed. Last year, I spent my own money to purchase a cartridge. There are also other items like headphones, which are used daily. The students being young boys are not always gentle with the headphones, therefore headphones frequently need to be replaced. Our PC speakers are very old and are beginning to short out,  leaving us to stop whatever media presentation we may be watching because we can't hear it.
