Even young readers need to practice reading to become better readers. The students will use the readers on their level to practice reading independently or with a partner. The books are already leveled. They will be displayed by the levels so the students can choose books that are of interest to them but that are on a level that is appropriate for them so they can actually practice the skills we are working on in their guided group or during conferencing. The books will provide me with a wide range of reading materials so that I can provide reading experiences for my students that are relevant and engaging so they can become better and more confident readers. Having books on their level will help them practice sight words, fluency, and expression.
