Having limited access to quality tools has been an issue for my classroom for several years. The tools I chose will enable my students to create more of a variety of projects for both themselves and to be sold as fundraisers with the funds being used to increase our tool inventory for my future students. My students can use a scroll saw for many different projects such as nameplates, birdhouses, jelly bean dispensers and wooden jigsaw puzzles. The planer that my classroom needs will be used to create custom game boards like checkers, chess, shuffleboard, and labyrinth. Not only can my shop use the basic hand tools like hammers and coping saws, but the palm sanders will be used to showcase craftsmanship skills on the finishing touches on a number of projects.
