The tools I am requesting will be used to develop important speech and language skills. Specifically, research supports the use of print with students in the preschool years. Teaching students to understand the correlation between the letters and sounds and giving them the written representation has been shown as being strong indicators of later reading skills. My students will be exposed to print during each session, which is an important early literacy skill. Students with language disorders are at high risk of having difficulties with reading. With the materials I have requested I will be able to address all of the skills needed in order to support my student's chances to not struggle in academics in the future. One of the ways to do this is by providing activities that will enhance their comprehension and expressive language skills as early as possible.
