My fourth graders love to learn. Many of my students learn in many different ways around my classroom. Some students work better by sitting on the carpet, and other students need to sit in a chair to listen to the teacher. Because my students learn in different ways, I want my students to be able to choose their preference for seats. Studies show that students with preferential seating perform better in the classroom. I want my students to be able to achieve the height of their potential. My classroom has always been able to choose their spot around the room, but we have not had the seating to accommodate every need. The money provided from flexible seating will allow me to be able to purchase many different seating choices for my classroom. My students will be able to choose between a standing desk, traditional desk, bumpy seats, comfy chairs, and bouncy seats.
