All of our students want a place to call their own and feel like they belong. My intentions when decorating my classroom are to make it feel like home. So why not have furniture that is developmentally appropriate and safe. This furniture would be very conducive to their learning; but is also updated. My students would have everything they need to create masterpieces in an uncluttered area and feel relaxed. The configuration encourages collaboration and communication amongst the students, which is the goal. Students will be able to do team and independent work to build creativity. We will be able to take these with us when we travel and plug them into the sound system to perform and record, controlling the levels completely. The drum sets will play many roles in the program for the students. This will enhance the environment not only in the classroom but in general.
