The Giver teaches that diversity is a gift and I hope that my students take that message away from this novel. I am hoping that you can help them read and experience the novel The Giver by Lois Lowry. I believe that my students will be completely captivated by Jonah's journey through the dystopian society he calls home. I want them to have the resources to help them fully understand, and make the most out of their reading experience. I believe that providing each of them with a copy of the book and the teacher/student resources will give them more writing and discussion opportunities. Your generosity will also give them the opportunity to read this story in more than one environment which will help with their ability to retain key plot points and reread for understanding.
