Our current timpani are 40+ years old and in dire need of replacing. Modern band literature, solo literature, and honor band audition music require a more modern instrument that works properly. In much the same way classrooms need modern technology to keep up, and athletes need modern equipment to compete, the band needs equipment that can keep up with the music and the students. Our percussion students will benefit directly from the use of the equipment but will benefit our entire program by providing a very necessary instrument to the execution of quality marching band and concert band music. Something our old equipment is unable to achieve. Our budget does not allow for a full set to be purchased, so we need an extra boost to get a full set.
