Since I work in an Integrated Co-Teaching class, some of my students are special education. They have trouble with socializing appropriately with their peers and adults in their life. Many of my students do not understand how their actions and behaviors can have a negative effect on the people around them. This project will help my students to have access to colorful and bright picture books that will help them to learn social and emotional skills. This year, social and emotional is a big focus in our school, and having these concrete examples that they can connect to will help them to better communicate their thoughts and feelings. It will also help them to build better relationships with their peers and teachers.
