Strumming for Success would give ukuleles to my 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students. These ukuleles will give my students the opportunity to try a string instrument while in elementary school. Smaller than guitars, ukuleles are accessible to every body and hand type. Students love the ability to play a string instrument for the first time. Their elementary music learning comes to life when they can hold an instrument in their hand and follow along with printed music. My students will also learn all about chords and chord charts so they can carry this learning with them for the rest of their lives.
