My new students will need new mats to sit on for the new school year. They will help my students learn where to sit and also allow us to use the mat as a learning tool. Our whole day is spent sitting on our mat spots, so it is important my students are as comfortable as possible. On the mat my students have assigned spots and a big enough square they can call their own. This helps us visualize personal space and respecting one another. We also do not have big enough classrooms to have tables or desks in, so these are one of the few things they can call their own. They enjoy the foam feeling and the bright colors.
