The Amazon Fire tablets will enhance and engage student learning in all subject areas in the classroom. With the tablets my students will have access to hundreds of different books. This is a wonderful tool to differentiate my instruction for my students; some will be able to find higher level chapter books, while other will find books that can be read to them. Students will be able to use the tablets for different types of research projects in the classroom. This allows them to go more in depth into a subject rather than just using some of the books from the classroom library. Most importantly the Fire tablets would allow for more student communication and collaboration. My class uses the app SeeSaw that allows students to complete and post work in all subject areas onto our classroom site. Through this app they are able to record themselves reading, take photos of a drawing they did, type and answer to a question about a book, label diagrams, or even just upload photos of them working on a project together. As a result the other students are able to see their peers' work and make comments about what they loved about their friend's posting. These are just a few of the benefits of using tablets in the classroom, but the possibilities with them will be endless.
