Within our program, a lot of our families come from backgrounds where education is not a priority of life. With the Scholar Program, we are trying to show the importance of not just higher education, but a parallel importance of early education for their children. The norm for our society is that early education is just babysitting. We are changing that norm by stressing the importance of every aspect of Head Start. We have several parents that are graduating this year within the Scholar Program and would like to extend the celebration of our young children graduating from this chapter of their life. We will be utilizing the caps and gown, medals, and certificates for a preschool graduation at the end of May to show the importance this chapter of their life and to incorporate the strength of education and knowledge that their children have received over the past year.
