As the new Director of this program for our school district, I am wanting to grow and give a refreshed look not only to the children we work with in the home, but for those who are able to come here to the classroom. Some of the items being requested will only be used here in the classroom like the Vet stand and the Market, but parts that are removable we can take to the home and introduce the care of animals and or check up procedures relating the child to their animal. Another area we can bring to the home is the grocery items and cash register. We can bring imagination play of "shopping" like mom or Dad exploring the starting stages of money recognition, counting food items. There are so many ways to bring activities to our students either in the home or in the classroom.
