Due to COVID-19, my 6th-grade students will not be able to attend their Safety Patrol trip to Washington, D.C. I would love to take them on an exciting virtual tour of the sites that they would have visited, had their trip not been canceled. After visiting D.C., the possibilities are endless as Google Expeditions offers hundreds of field trips. They may find themselves hovering over the Colosseum, become immersed in the coldest continent on earth and viewing amazing up-close images of penguins, or turning around in the Congo to be confronted by an enormous 160kg silverback gorilla that can make anyone jump. We were able to borrow and use these amazing tools earlier in the year and bring abstract concepts to life. The kids went crazy when we "went" inside an Egyptian tomb. I'd like to provide this wonderful experience for them again and again!
