CompTIA is an industry leader in IT certification. Our class will follow the guidelines of the CompTIA IT Fundamentals coursework. Students will open up computers, swap out components, learn the basics of routers, switches, IP, DNS, DHCP. We will install software, install printers, even do some basic database management. My students will touch on and familiarize themselves with all the basics of IT. Whether it's a corporate environment or a small business, knowing IT fundamentals will serve my students well in their futures. Technology infuses our lives, from work, to home and all the spaces in between. My students won't just be end users, they will be empowered to improve and fix the technology problems around them. They may even be able to finally get that printer working for Dad!
