According to William James, “So it is with children who learn to read fluently and well: They begin to take flight into whole new worlds as effortlessly as young birds take to the sky”. Reading centers will help students practice literacy skills that will help with them on their journey to becoming fluent readers. Many students struggle with math concepts and being able to use hands-on resources such as manipulatives and centers provide engaging activities to reinforce important skills needed to grasp second grade learning standards. Students will use the activities while working independently and cooperatively as part of our daily classroom routines.
