Reading Recovery is a specialized reading intervention designed to accelerate student learning in reading and writing. In order to do this, the children that I work with need to read books and practice with words and letters at home. Also, they need a calm and fun environment in which to learn. Using a yoga ball chair, an iPad mini, and resources to send home with the children, they will be accelerating their reading and writing. They will have a fun environment where they can sit in a comfortable chair, write words and letters on the iPad, and share what they are learning at home with their families. They will take home books and supplies, such as the dry erase boards and magnetic letters, to use with their families and become confident and capable readers.
