Hello we are a third grade class and we would like to purchase some new flexible seating options for our room. We want these items so it will help all of our different learners concentrate on doing their best work, and it will motivate them to come to school ready to learn! We think that with more seating privileges the students in our class would be even more comfortable while they are learning new things. Some items we would like to add to our classroom are balance trainers, rolling chairs, yoga balls, and other unique furniture that allows us to move while we learn. We would like yoga balls, rolling chairs and wobble stools for our class to enjoy. Sitting on these will help students stay focused even if they are sitting next to their friends. If students have access to these, they might not even want to talk to the people next to them. Our classmates also keep going to the restroom even though our teacher constantly reminds them to go during recess. We think with these options, people will be so comfortable and focused on their learning, they might forget we even have a restroom! Well, maybe not, but they may not go as often during our class time. Balance trainers would be especially good for the students in our class who like to stand while they work because it will be better than standing on the floor. According to a student in our class, “Standing helps me focus better.” Because other students might feel the same, we want to purchase more than one balance trainer so we won’t have to switch if more than one person wants to use it.
