Since I've been at this school, I've seen students come to class wearing the same clothes they wore the prior day. I've seen students who felt embarrassed because they knew they didn't smell well and didn't want to go to school. I have also spoke to students who have confessed to me that they didn't eat anything all day. The weekends are especially difficult since they do not have access to school lunch during those days. It saddens me because these students are between the ages of 14-17 and they have so much to worry about that I would like to take away some of their worries. This project will provide the students of my school with essentials that will help them get through the day. Once they are in school, they know they will have a good meal and know that they will be able to get supplies that will help them not feel embarrassed about their hygiene.
