My students need access to more technology resources to better the learning environment in the class room! I am requesting Osmo, Boogie boards, and Chromebooks will allow my students to grow as 21st century learners. My students absolutely love learning through technology and expressing their creativity through art. We are in need of a child friendly, reusable, effective, and fun ways for my young learners to develop their reading, writing, and math skills quickly and efficiently. I'm tired of wasting paper! Dry-erase boards get stained and markers dry out quickly. Pencil and paper is boring when used day after day. Boogie Boards are an exciting way for students to display their thoughts and skills. The writing stylus is shaped like a regular pencil so students are still able to practice their grip and fine motor skills and will be excited to do so since they will want to use the boards. Having Ipads is a great tool and resource however, Chromebooks in our classroom will help my students first and foremost learn how to navigate a computer. In the next few years they will be expected to create projects, do research and take assessments using the computer. Furthermore, we will be able to enhance learning by being able to explore Google Classroom and other learning websites. We will be able to learn by tapping into resources outside of our classroom walls. The OSMO combines their loves together - they become a designer, coder, mathematician, race car driver, problem solver, and creator, all while utilizing technology! Our classroom currently has Ipads for the students to use but we need more then just a few apps to do on them when doing rotations. The OSMO Genius kit will allow students to practice math, sight words, and increase their understanding of geometric shapes and how they fit together with the Words, Tangrams, and Math programs. We would also love noise canceling headphones to ensure that each student student in our room is able to be successful in their learning!
