I work with a wonderful team of teachers to instruct students in a low income community. Our staff works hard to provide for the students we are entrusted to teach. Our school district recently was in fiscal emergency but we are striving to make innovative changes for the students and families in our community. I teach in a departmentalized grade level and provide math, science, and social studies instruction to 44 students. My homeroom is a full inclusion classroom. I co-teach with an Intervention Specialist and we provide instruction to students with a wide range of abilities from autism to ELL to gifted. We provide differentiated small group instruction to meet the specific needs of each student. Resources that enhance our small group as well as whole group instruction go a long way to making sure every student feels engaged and successful.
