Our classroom is the open field surrounding our school. We have several rectangular fields that we use for practice and games. We also use the track, weight room and other open spaces. These are all spaces that are provided by the school system. What the school system does not supply us with as often as needed, is the equipment and the clothing that is needed to compete as a team or train as a student athlete. Many of our Donors Choose projects are emblematic of that challenge. We need to outfit our student athletes with the proper clothing that affords them the opportunity to play and train, but also that provides them the strong mental attitude that is necessary instead of worrying about what they look like or what others perceive of them. Our projects also provide our student athletes with the training equipment to compete with all schools, regardless of the socioeconomic structure or spending budgets.
