I teach several different sciences in my integrated class. My 9th and 10th graders do not learn solely through lectures, discussions, and slide shows. They require hands-on activities, where they can apply what they have learned. Students acquire background information, scientific knowledge, and critical thinking skills through the application of scientific principals. Students will use marbles/racket balls with various liquids (dish soap, oil, and corn syrup) to form a density column to test the density of liquids vs. objects. In addition, with the rest of the materials I hope to help the students engage in experiments to learn about states of matter, chemical reactions, polarity and viscosity.
