All of my classroom students will use these programs every day to promote and grow their reading and math abilities. Students love the use of the iPads in their daily learning, but adding these programs would take their thinking and abilities to the next level. Students will be able to work specifically at their level of need. They will be actively engaged in matching sounds, making words, making numbers, and basic math skills. Students that need to focus on sounds will be able to do so, while the other students can focus on making words and sentences. Students need as much one on one teaching as they can get in order to excel, and these programs would be adding that one to one component. One to one allows for individualization, reinforcement, and repetition of taught skills. Many of my students are not getting reinforcement of their learning at home, so I have to ensure that it is happening at school. Student learning is greatly improved when students acquire knowledge through active processes that engage them. Studies have shown that children from different countries and grade levels will all have an increase in achievement when manipulatives are put to good use. All three of the requested programs involve students manipulating letters or numbers to match skills being taught/covered on the iPad Apps.
