My students are from the south side of Chicago and come into my classroom daily bustling with energy and ready to learn. My students enjoy telling stories and learning about new experiences through stories. My students bring their unique experiences and learning styles to create the imperfectly perfect puzzle of wonder. Kindergarten is the first experience in school for many of them and we all work together to make sure that it is the best experience! I would love for my students to experience so much more, but resources are often limited and home lives inconsistent. Nonetheless, I love that my students always bring the only supplies they can never lose: their creativity, drive, and enthusiasm to learn and they never fail to inspire me in the process.
