Currently, my students use uncomfortable and restricting chair/desk combinations that do not allow for easy movement or collaboration among their peers. It is also difficult for overweight students getting in and out of these seats. Students are more likely to retain information if they learn with and from each other. In order to facilitate this way of learning, I would like to take out the uncomfortable desks and use these tables with chairs that can be pulled out in order to create a more relaxed environment where students are able to settle down, move the way they need to, and better focus on their work in small groups. The items I'm asking for are two large flower shaped tables that seat up to 6 students each. The group instruction and project based learning that my district is headed towards will be able to be achieved with these tables. For students with behavioral disorders, small group instruction is instrumental in helping them learn specific social cues and the two tables I'm asking for will help with this.
