We are requesting books about various cultures. These books will continue to enhance our print-rich classroom that assists in increasing student reading levels and curiosity. Every student book that is placed in my library is treated with love and care, and they are thankful for the opportunities to read and ask for more information on the cultures and religions of those they may be caring for. These books will be in integral part of the group activity that will become a classroom presentation. The students will be the teachers and caregivers and will choose one book or passage to read to us as if we were a child or group in their care. Their curiosity about other customs will deepen their ability to empathize and give better care when they step into the health care profession.
