Students in my class are a wonderful group of diverse learners. No two students learn the same. Therefore, it is imperative that they are supported in many different ways. Some students benefit from visuals, having text read aloud to them, being able to physically manipulate materials or having the ability to speak to write/type. A Microsoft Chromebook, HP all in one color printer and laminator are the key materials that are needed to meet the needs of each and everyone of these amazing students. STEM has the ability to unlock the door and create many different opportunities for these children. The first time that I saw my class complete a STEM activity in their Computer science class, I was blow away. Students who have difficulty completing multi-step activities with one on one teacher assistance were creating algorithms, problem solving and explaining their process. This is when I knew that I needed to find a way to incorporate STEM into weekly or even daily lessons. These materials will help me complete this task. I will be able to support my students in many ways, make learning exciting and provide the opportunity for them to work independently.
