Whiteboards are a necessary component to the AVID classroom as every Tuesday and Thursday they complete Tutorials or collaborative study groups. The students work together to guide each other with areas of struggle with their core classes. They have to present their points of confusion and show their work with graphic organizers or pictures and explain the steps to their understanding. The other students then ask clarifying questions to help guide the student presenter to understand their points of confusion. The student presenter displays their work on the whiteboards so the other students can take 3 column notes to help.
