We need a current PC laptop that can interface with a laser cutter. We are planning to add a low cost laser cutter so that kids can learn how to design for the real world and in so doing take our Maker Space to the next level. To do so we need a current PC laptop that is capable of funning Corel Draw (Not offered for the Mac). We intend to teach the design process on our computers and use the PC to complete the interface with the laser cutter because it is capable of running Corel Draw. We will design a solution to the problem on our Mac computers, create it with the help of the PC, test and try out our design, and then refine and make it better! Our Mac computers will run a drawing program and send those design drawings to the PC running Corel Draw. That PC controls the laser cutter. With the PC laptop, we can make the cutter work!
