I am asking for a set of books for the students to read and have to keep for their own. These books will be used in the classroom as a teaching tool to do a shared reading activity. The students will read about a girl who folds paper cranes while she is fighting a illness and the promise that the cranes will heal her. They will read the story and use the origami paper to make the cranes; to show how committed she was to making the cranes in order to help her. My hope is that they will enjoy the story and create an understanding of others struggles and appreciation of their own good fortune.
