As the school nurse my day is filled with students who have issues stemming from being dehydrated. Students often come to the health office complaining of headaches or stomach aches and the few small sips of water they can get from the water fountains just aren't enough. I am requesting 200 reusable water bottles. Adequate hydration is essential for health! Water is crucial for the proper function of several physiological processes, including circulatory function, metabolism, temperature regulation, and waste removal. Even mild dehydration is associated with headache, irritability, poorer physical performance, and reduced cognitive functioning. I would like to be able to provide my students with a reusable water bottles to improve their hydration and be kind to the environment at the same time.
