My students were not only able to build on their skills from last year, but they were able to explore so many new types of art. My students loved sculpture and being able to work with paper mache. They also understood the importance of learning fiber arts and various everyday skills such as sewing. I am always worried that these types of art are becoming lost in the rise of technology. So it was refreshing to see my students fully engaged and even choosing to make things outside of class. Your donations have not only helped my students and my room, but have also inspired new teachers to create projects to be funded. That is the gift that keeps on giving.\r\n\r\nI am a school-based therapist and I provide individual and group therapy for students who may be struggling with their mental health. I requested items such as a jellyfish lava lamp, grass-like carpet, LGBTQ+ games, and various books on mental health. These items have helped me cultivate a calming and welcoming environment that allows students to open up and feel accepted in my space. It has also allowed students and myself to gain more knowledge on how to support students struggling with mental health.\r\n\r\nWhen my students noticed the differences in my room, their eyes lit up. They were so happy to see new items and explore the possibilities they had.
