Scholastic Storyworks Jr. Magazines will provide our students with multigenre stories that will appeal to the different types of readers in our classes. It is important that students are given material at their reading level. Storyworks Jr. Magazines will allow all students to read the same articles, but at a reading level that is comfortable for each of them. The magazines provide questions for the students to answer which act as comprehension checks to ensure that they are reading carefully and focusing on the ideas in the text. Differentiating instruction for our students is a key component to creating an environment conducive to learning. Our students each have unique learning styles in the classroom that are supported by visual or auditory supplements. Storyworks Jr. Magazines provide extra resources for our learners that include audio read aloud, videos, vocabulary slideshows, and photos. The subscription provides additional activities that will help to strengthen reading and writing skills. These magazines are a must-have for our students!
